LISA TROYER
Over the past 12 months or so I have been working in the Studio with an American artist called Lisa Troyer. Its been really interesting cos we’re not in the SAME Studio! She lives in the USA, and we’ve worked by sending files across the “pond” (The Atlantic Ocean actually) via broadband working with Kopperhead studios in Canton run by my now friend Lee in Canton Ohio & doing mixes & sending them back & forth.. Lisa is part of

an organisation called “Circle of Friends ministries” which is geared towards women, & so hosts radio shows & conventions etc to do with the ministry. She also is a DJ on various Christian Radio Networks.
My initial involvement was because Lisa loved the songs on Templesongs 1 and asked if she could record some. I agreed & was given the job of re-recording the songs in keys more suited to her vocal range. . I realised that with this project (as well as from previous projects) that I needed to be more in key (pun alert!) with other studios as we bandied files around & so invested in the ubiquitous PRO TOOLS sequencer package as most studios use that, & have not looked back.
I immediately loved the sound of Pro Tools & set about the uphill task of learning how to use it.
Back to Lisa, for her first song she chose “Forever” & we basically re recorded it by overdubbing fresh musicians etc. & fresh vocals to suit her style. We have since recorded versions of “Pour Your Love Down” & “Only the Best” among others.
We have used the same team on all the tracks, who include, Jon Howells on drums, Pete Norman (gtr), Chad Marriott on keys & Ron Knight on Bass.
I found out along the way that Lisa was comparing my mix’s with some of America’s major artists (ie big studios & big budgets) & we decided that we needed a re mixer based in the states (NashVegas) to give it that American? sound. We found Keith Compton (a Grammy award winning producer) & he now does the final mixes. The songs sound good!.

Immanual Family Church.
The church has recently moved from Stanford Ave where we inhabited a “tent” in a
church, to a proper building in Patcham called the “Fountain Centre” Its a very
welcoming building which has boosted us all tremendously. The next step is to convert
Stanford Ave (St Augustines) which we will move back into on completion.
Worship time at Fountain Centre
Heart Studios
As already mentioned ss now proud to offer Pro Tools 8,
plus new plug ins such as Liquid Mix & Uad in its Sonic arsenal.
The Studio - Pro Tools -- My route of learning was defined by what I needed to do.
Having worked with other sequencers in the past, I learned how to do what I’d been
doing previously, before moving on.
Pro Tools has been described as a “very deep” program, & I would agree. I can do
all I need to do to make good recordings now, and there’s still loads under the hood,
I don’t know about yet.... Amazing, & the sound still blows me away .... I loved
the sound of Pro Tools the moment I heard it in my studio & having worked with it
now understand why it is an Industry Standard....

Primera Disc Publisher 11
Many of my customers have needed small runs of CD’s to sell at their gigs & asked
me if I could run off 20 !! With 1 cd recorder this can take an inordinate amount
of time. So I invested in the Primera machine which manufactures CD’s & DVD’s with
onbody printing... Good for music, speaking seminars or Video repro.... any size
order considered
CD & DVD replication 2-300 copies quick turnaround....
